Unlike a modern car, which will have been manufactured using advanced systems to help keep panels in pristine condition, a classic model will have been made at a time where primers and paints didn’t offer the same levels of protection as those we use today. And, just as you might with a newer vehicle, there is no way of predicting accidental damage to a classic car until such time as the unexpected eventually happens.
Titchfield Body Shop is a specialist in the field of classic car repair services. Working out of a popular workshop in Fareham, we cover nearby Havant and all Hampshire areas.
We differ from other bodyshops through our knowledge of the classic and vintage car aftermarket. Owners tend to be more knowledgeable about classics too and have certain expectations over quality. Titchfield Body Shop is attentive to their needs and nothing less than passionate about keeping their timeless models looking at their absolute best.
Classic car repairs focus on damage to the bodywork and the bumpers. For some workshops, there is very little room for manoeuvre if a panel needs fabrication work or if a part needs to be replaced. We can manufacture bespoke panels and parts so that, even if something isn’t available to order in directly from our supplier network, we can still perform the repair.
Titchfield Body Shop also performs classic car restorations.
From minor bonnet and panel damage to bumper dechroming, we cover the needs of classic owners from Fareham, Havant and the surrounding areas. The pride you have in your car is reflected in our passion for excellence. We’re incredibly proud of our heritage and the work that we do in keeping vintage models looking at their best but, while we very much preserve the past, we do so by using today’s most modern repair systems.
One of the biggest challenges we face with classic car repair work is matching the colour accurately. Most classics won’t have a plate or other identifier giving us the correct shade.
Titchfield Body Shop gets around this problem by using state-of-the-art spectrophotometers which capture the colour digitally. The reading we get from a spectrophotometer is used to create a bespoke paint mixing formula so, if we are only repairing and refinishing one or two panels, our paintwork will still match the rest of your car’s bodywork perfectly.
Because we use modern products and systems for classic car repair work, there is less likelihood of age, or the elements, impacting the final finish of the paintwork.
